Public field exams

Four questions. Four bounded investigations.

Each example starts from a public sponsor question and lawful public research. The short interpretations show what changed, what survived, what failed, and what remains to be tested.

These are independent desk investigations, not sponsor submissions or measured field results. Each detail page states the limit specific to that case.

The contribution is the point.

01

PF-S001

Industrial instrumentation

YPF — Know the real position of an installed valve

What changed

The completed investigation sharpened the distinction between valve movement, sensor-head identity, mounting changes, assignment, calibration drift, and a genuinely independent physical reference.

02

PF-S002

Infrastructure recovery

UNDP — Locate hidden underground utilities

What changed

The completed investigation added sharper definitions of what each instrument actually measures, eligible buried-fiber localization, and tests designed to expose overconfident multi-sensor conclusions.

03

PF-S003

Chemical and materials R&D

Photocentric — Make useful polyols from UK waste carbon

What changed

The completed investigation developed closer photopolymer-related evidence, stronger measurement controls, and more explicit decisions about where purification or isolation might matter.

04

PF-S004

Last-mile food preservation

ADB — Protect produce and vendor value—not just temperature

What changed

The completed investigation added sharper whole-batch handling tests, pack-task commissioning questions, and a crop-specific comparison between vapor buffering and condensate isolation. Discovery B had already found older horticultural analogues and did not assert broad novelty.
